Nursing Assistants and Home Health Aide Training

This program is offered at NO COST for participants who meet income eligibility and program requirements, and training stipends are available.

CNA & Nurse’s Aide Training Programs

Eligibility 

  • Non-native English speakers should have at least an intermediate level of English

  • Massachusetts Resident

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required for the 6-week training only)

  • Must be able to participate in a criminal record screening (CORI) and drug screening

  • At least 3 months of prior work experience is preferred, in any country or field

6-week & 14-week trainings All interested parties must attend Info Session for information on training start dates

Jewish Vocational Services (JVS)

Pharmacy Technician Training Program

Eligibility

  • Fluent or Strong English skills

  • Massachusetts Resident

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required and must be 18+ years

  • Must not be enrolled in full-time college classes

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

  • All applicants will be required to participate in a CORI, background and drug screening

Eligibility

  • 18+ years old

  • U.S. work authorization

  • High school diploma or GED/HiSET

  • Advanced level of English

  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19

  • Ready and able to work right when the training ends

MUA’s program will help English Language Learners to complete a Medical Assistant Training (CMA) program, consisting of 320 hours of instruction followed by a 160-hour externship. Complete this application to be added to the waiting list. This training typically begins every October and February.

The 16-week Medical Administrative Assistant training program prepares participants for general registration and front desk administrative office support, including basic medical terminology, overview of billing and claims processing, HIPAA and OSHA guidelines, and health insurance overview. At the conclusion of training, participants will take a certification exam to receive their industry recognized Medical Administrative Assistant credential.

Adult programs target ESL, computer skills, and certification focused instruction. Once individuals have the skills necessary to begin a job search, IFSI’s workforce development team helps them attain meaningful careers through resume building, interviewing training and job placement. Combined, these programs help to accelerate and prioritize their adaptation and integration within their new communities.

Immigrant Family Services Institute (IFSI)

Patient Care Technician Training Program

Eligibility

  • Must have a HS Diploma, GED, or foreign equivalency

  • Must be a Massachusetts Resident

  • Must have 2023-2024 COVID booster and 2023-2024 Flu vaccine

  • Can lift/push/pull up to 100 pounds, independently

  • CORI and drug tests required

7-week program focuses on acute care skills, direct patient care, phlebotomy basic and EKG basics, with a guaranteed, full-time job. Attend a live information session on Zoom to learn more
